Venerable Fr. Joseph Vithayathil
Fr. Joseph Vithayathil was born on July 23, 1865, to Joseph and Anna Vithayathil. He came from a prominent family in the parish of Manambady, Puthenpally in Ernakulam district, Kerala.
He is considered a co-founder of the Congregation of the Holy Family due to his unique and decisive role in the life of Saint Mariam Thresia and the early development of the congregation. Together with Mariam Thresia, he worked tirelessly with limited resources and, most importantly, trust in the providence of God, to nurture and establish the congregation.
